Solidstrip and Plastic Media History
Solidstrip Plastic Abrasives were developed by E.I. DuPont in the 1980's to satisfy the increasing demand for a surface cleaning medium that was efficient, effective, and environmentally acceptable. The Solidstrip process is a dry stripping method by which small angular plastic particles are propelled against a painted surface lifting the paint off and leaving a clean, unmarred substrate.
Originally designed for aviation applications, Solidstrip's use has expanded to include ground and marine transportation, electronic circuitry, metals, mold cleaning, and other industrial applications. Solidstrip is engineered to have the ideal combination of hardness, density, particle angularity, and consistency that makes it superior blasting media.
